July 28, 2008DEBATE OVER LOCATION OF PROPOSED CONSOLIDATED DISPATCH CENTER CONTINUES
July 10, 2008Although the cities of Albion and Marshall, as well as Calhoun County
Sheriff Al Byam, have expressed a strong desire to see a proposed
consolidated dispatch center be located in the County Building in
Marshall,
officials in Battle Creek are arguing that it would be more feasible
to
place it in their community.
Albion and Marshall’s city councils earlier this week approved
signing on to an agreement that would create an independent governing
authority for the Center. The agreement also calls for that Center to
be
located in Marshall because Marshall is the county seat and would be a
neutral site for the county-wide Center.

The Spectacular Fireworks of Marshall Michigan by Scott R Heath
July 6, 2008
This year my wife and I missed Albion’s Fireworks because of our work schedules so we visited Marshall Fairgrounds to observe their fireworks. Although Marshall is a small town like Albion, their fireworks were quite entertaining.
