The Youth Advisory Committee of the Albion Community Foundation
announces the availability of grant funds to support projects that
promote
positive youth development in the greater Albion area. The average
grant
range is $250-$2000. 501 (c)(3) or other tax exempt organizations
serving the greater Albion area are eligible to apply for grants from
the
youth fund, so long as the support and involve youth in the project.
Application materials and guidelines are available via the Albion
Community Foundation’s website at www.albionfoundation.org and at
the
office of the Albion Community Foundation, located at 203 S. Superior
Street, Albion, Michigan. All applications are due by 4 p.m. on
Tuesday,
September 2, 2008, this is not a postmark deadline.
Donations to the Youth Fund may be made by check or credit card, made
out to “Albion Community Foundation,” with the name of the fund on the
memo line of the check. Donations to an endowment fund are not
spendable
by the Foundation; they are added to the principle of the fund, which
is invested by ACF. A portion of the income generated from that
principle can be expended during the following year on the purposes
for which
the endowment was created.
The Albion Community Foundation was established in 1968 to improve the
quality of life for our citizens. The Foundation is a local nonprofit
organization providing donors a simple, powerful and highly personal
approach to giving — so their gifts do good works within the
community,
forever.
